The Navigator is closely related to the Ford Expedition but offers a showier appearance inside and out. It also offers many luxury and high-tech options, which appeal to those looking for a luxurious, tow-friendly SUV that can also haul a large family in top comfort. The Navigator also gets gas mileage that's similar to smaller luxury vehicles. The Navigator L provides the most passenger space, with an easier-to-reach third row and additional cargo space in back.
WHAT'S NEW:
A new Monochrome Appearance Package is new for 2009, and there are several other appealing new features. Sirius Travel Link, a subscription-based information service that's integrated with the navigation system, is now available, Front Park Assist, a capless fueling system, rain-sensing wipers, heated second-row seats and a rear-view camera system are all now on the standard-equipment list. The Sync system, which allows a voice-activated hands-free interface with cellphones, PDAs and music players is also new for 2009.
